The exhibition is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to the diversification of arts and culture and provides a platform to encourage widespread exchange and collaboration between local and international artistic talent.

Under the motto “Full content, full of love”, the exhibition was created as a matter of the heart of the Chinese artist Water Poon and Romy Cheung. It features over 40 Poon-painted bowls, some dedicated to the 24 Chinese solar terms, as well as unique folk art costumes designed by Cheung, some featuring the traditional Nantong blue calico Jiangsu Province that integrates modern design with traditional materials to demonstrate the power of the guochao, or insurgency China cultural flood.

Poon is an artist, photographer, designer and film director. During his career he has published over 50 photo albums, art books and travelogues. His works have been exhibited around the world, including in China, Singapore, Japan, Canada and The United States. He has won a variety of awards including Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Professional Youth of the Year, Hong Kong Artist of the Year for Photography and Martell Artist of the Year in Shanghai, China.

He said: “I am delighted to present these works from the ‘101 Bowls’ series at Sands Gallery. Art is a pillar of culture, and it is an honor to be able to showcase the rich history of Chinese art and culture with this exhibition. These bowls, modeled after the 24 Chinese terms of the sun, serve not only as containers but also as a medium to spread love and goodwill throughout the community. I am even happier that my art can turn into goodwill by cultivating rural youth China Get to know and appreciate art. As a benefit tour, the exhibition has toured Canton, shanghai and Dongguan, with donations to respective youth education NGOs along the way. At the opening ceremony, Poon took the opportunity to present a check for MOP 100,000 to Lok Hei, representative of the Rainbow Road Project and President of the Macau Artist Society, in the presence of five of the philanthropists who bought the bowls. Poon and Cheung then guided the guests of honor through the exhibition.

The guests of honor at the exhibition were Yin Rutao, Deputy Director-General of the Publicity and Culture Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao SAR; Lok Po, member of the National People’s Congress and director of the Macau Daily News; dr wong; Cheng Wai Tong, deputy director of the Macao Government Tourism Bureau; Sam Hou In, Head of Exhibitions and Museums Department, Bureau of Cultural Affairs, Macao SAR; Lai Ieng, vice chairman of the Guangdong Artists Association; Lok Hei, President of the Macau Artist Society; Spoon; and Cheung.

Inspired by the cloak and alms bowl of a Buddhist monk, the bowls and garments on display depict the truth, goodness and beauty of nature. The bowls in particular were crafted by ceramics company JOYYE, with Poon painting them with elements related to the 24 Chinese sun concepts and the idea of ​​positivity in life. The exhibition aims to showcase the beauty of ceramic culture and painting while serving charitable purposes. The artist explains that the idea of ​​”101″ represents reunion after completion, returning to the starting point without forgetting the original intention, which was to communicate love and benevolence through the bowls as a medium.
